Eligibility for Services at CAPS

Full-time students (6 credits for graduate; 12 credits for undergraduate) enrolled in a degree-seeking academic program are eligible for all CAPS services.

Part-time students (registered for fewer than 6 credits) are eligible for an Initial Consultation Appointment, 1-3 individual counseling sessions, group therapy, workshops, and assistance connecting with off-campus counseling services.

All students, regardless of credit hours, are eligible for Crisis Drop-In Hours and 24/7 Phone Counseling services.

Faculty/Staff are not eligible for services and are asked to use their employee health benefits for mental health services.

All new clients begin with a 30-minute Initial Consultation Appointment (ICA). During the ICA, you will meet with a counselor for an assessment and decide next steps for counseling services.

If any of the following applies, please call (651) 962-6750 for assistance.

  • You are in crisis and need to see a counselor today.
  • You need to cancel or reschedule an existing ICA appointment.
